I’m Stuart Maxwell (he/him), an information architect living and working in Seattle, WA, USA. This is my blog about information architecture, taxonomy, and related information management issues. I’m currently Manager of Information Architecture at REI, where I work on navigation systems and site structure, designing metadata schemas, and developing taxonomies and ontologies. For more about my work, see my LinkedIn page.
I’m active in the IA community, having organized World IA Day Seattle in 2015 and 2016, acted as the West Coast Regional Director for World IA Day 2017, and was co-chair of IA Summit 2018.
I have a Masters in Information Management from the University of Washington iSchool, and I occasionally teach an information architecture class at the School of Visual Concepts in Seattle.
